There are a total of 31 states in the US with at least 1 Bortle 2 state park site, which breaks down to 29 of the 48 contiguous US states plus Hawaii and Alaska.
The following 2 states do not have any Bortle 2 parks and do not border another state with a Bortle 2 site: Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
17 of the 19 states without a Bortle 2 site shares a border with at least 1 state with a state that has a Bortle 2 site. That said, the travel times can be lengthy to visit a neighboring state to get to a Borte 2 site.
