As Apple iOS 16.4 was recently released, something that got added were a few new emojis. This promoted us to take a look at what they were and got us thinking which space and planet emojis exist. Of course there is the rocket emoji, and some planets such as Earth and Saturn. However, this leads us to realize that there are a few missing planet emojis!
Note: We understand not everyone uses an Apple Device, and there are many different phones out there, but using this as an example.
Here are a few of our thoughts for 3 new emojis to help complete the set of planets available to users!
- Mars
- Jupiter
- More Realistic Moon
Mars
In a world where we have SpaceX and Elon Musk who have a goal of populating and colonizing Mars, it makes total sense that there would be a Mars emoji! The opportunity for the SpaceX Twitter to send a Tweet of the following 2 emojis would be epic: Rocket Mars. This is definitely a missed opportunity here both for SpaceX and for NASA as there has been a plethora of buzz when NASA and others launch missions to Mars.
Jupiter
With its Great Red Spot, Jupiter has iconic features that are unmistakable and unforgettable! This makes the planet a perfect emoji opportunity!
Realistic Moon
There are currently 2 moons, the nighttime moon and day moon. Both are fine, but look a bit creepy and not realistic. If there’s a semi realistic Saturn/ringed planet emoji, why not have a more realistic moon emoji! Would help be more inviting, as the existing moon emojis are a bit creepy for some to use.
