Here are some interesting and unique facts about the 2045 total solar eclipse! Hopefully they provide some insight and new information!
- The next visible total solar eclipse in the US after this one will be March 30th, 2052
- In this total solar eclipse, the path of totality similar to, but not exactly the same as the August 21, 2017 total solar eclipse because the lunar node is descending and the August 2017 solar eclipse was ascending.
- It will be the fourth longest eclipse of the 21st century with a magnitude of 1.0774 occurring just one hour after perigee.
- The total eclipse will be greatest over the Bahamas
- It will also be the second total eclipse visible from Little Rock, Arkansas in 21.3 years. The other was the April 8th, 2024 Solar eclipse.
- The path is 400 km or 250 miles to the south of the 2017 total solar eclipse path.
- The eclipse passes through 12 US States, including: California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, parts of Georgia, and Florida.
- The eclipse passes through 12 countries, including the US, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, and Brazil.
- Totality will last for a minimum of 6 minutes along the part of the path that starts at Camden, Alabama, Florida and near the southernmost Bahama Islands.
