As of the writing of this, there are 429 official units of the National Park System; however, this number can be misleading. National Park System units are found in all 50 states, in the District of Columbia, and in the U.S. territories, except for the Mariana Islands. In this article, we’ll be taking a look at the 3 National Parks sites in North Dakota that will experience the eclipse in 2044, all of which are in totality!
North Dakota has 1 National Park and 2 National Historic Sites, all of which are in the path of totality! These are the only 2 National Historic Sites in the path of totality in the US, and Theodore Roosevelt National Park is 1 of only 2 National Parks in the path of totality. The other National Park in totality is Glacier National Monument in Montana.
Please note that sun will set below horizon before eclipse finishes.
