In the US and Canada, both countries have national parks that are in the path of the eclipse. We have individual articles for both counties and the individual US states that totality passes through. This article isn’t going to provide every comprehensive statistic in 1 article for every national park in the path of the solar eclipse, but provide some general statistics and information about the parks in totality. For information about the national parks for each country in totality, check out the specific articles on the topic.
Canada
There are 37 national parks and 10 national park reserves in Canada that represent 31 of Canada’s 39 terrestrial natural regions and protect approximately 336,343 square kilometers of Canada’s lands. If these national parks and national park reserves were their own country, they would be slightly smaller than the European country of Finland, which has an area of 336,884 square kilometers.
