In Egypt, there are 3 national parks that would be in the path of totality for the 2027 total solar eclipse in some fashion. Not every park will be in the path of totality, but come find out which Egyptian National parks in the path of totality, how much totality time, and more to help plan your travel!

National ParkDescription
Ras Muhammad National ParkLocated at the southern extreme of the Sinai Peninsula, overlooking the Gulf of Suez on the west and the Gulf of Aqaba to the east, the park is becoming a center of eco-tourism in the region. The park is known worldwide for the extraordinary beauty of its coral reef, considered one of the most spectacular in the world.
Wadi El Gemal National ParkAt 7,450 square KM in size, including 4,770 square KM of land and 2,100 square KM of marine space, the coastal area boasts rich coral reefs featuring 450 species of coral and more than 1200 species of fish. Roughly 1/5th of the marine life is native to the region and greater Red Sea.
White Desert National ParkIt is part of the Farafra depression in the Sahara Desert, which features the Farafra Oasis, the Ain El Maqfi Oasis, and the Ain El Wadi Oasis. The park is renowned for the white sands, white sand rock formations, and the introduction to the Great Sand Sea.

Not all of these will be in totality, nor are they equally easy or hard to get it; moreover, nor are they all equally desirable as a base for viewing totality. The table below shows the specific park totality, with 1 being in totality, 1 close to totality, and 1 being a few hours travel from totality.

National ParkMaximum Totality %Totality Time
Ras Muhammad National Park95.59%None
Wadi El Gemal National Park100.00%6 minutes, 17 seconds
White Desert National Park99.75%None

Therefore, the best options for visitors is to visit Wasi El Gamel National Park or use the White Desert National Park as a base.

When visiting these sites, it is recommended that you fly into Cairo or Aswan airport to get to Wadi El Gemal National Park and then drive via bus or taxi. The Cairo drive will be really long, but still doable.

While White Desert National Park may be a tempting option to use as a base for viewing totality, it is not entirely in totality, nor is it entirely confident that any parts of the park are in totality. Therefore, it should not be used as a totality viewing site.
